Christmas Crack 🍫
Christmas Crack is one of those easy recipes that’s SO good that you almost need to make a double batch for it to last more than a day 🤣
It’s extremely easy to make, and is ALWAYS a big crowd pleaser 🤭
You will need:
Baking tray
Parchment paper or reusable silpat baking mat
1 regular size bag of Lays original wavy chips
2 sticks unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
Sprinkles (optional, but I HIGHLY recommend 😉)
Side note: I used to make this recipe with saltine crackers instead of chips, but last year I tried the wavy chips and it literally changed my LIFE 😂
So feel free to use whatever you want as your base, but I very highly recommend going with the potato chips!
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350° F
Line your baking tray with parchment paper or a silpat baking mat and then dump your bag of potato chips on top.
Spread the chips out evenly on your baking tray just like how you make nachos!
Then in a small sauce pan, melt your butter on medium low heat and then add in your brown sugar once it’s fully melted.
Whisk everything together and bring it to a low simmer. Let that bubble for about 2-3 minutes before taking it off the heat.
Immediately poor the caramel mixture over your potato chips, followed by chocolate chips over top (try to evenly distribute everything over your chips as much as you can)!
Pop the baking tray in the oven for about 3 minutes to melt the chocolate chips.
Once out of the oven, spread our your now melted chocolate so that it covers everything evenly.
Add your sprinkles on top of the chocolate while it’s still melty (this makes the sprinkles stay in place)
Let the chocolate harden completely either on the countertop or by sticking it in the fridge or freezer for about 30-60 minutes.
Once everything is fully set, break it apart into chunks, serve & ENJOY! 🎅
